June 17 Mansfield, MA
The mass skate sectional held at MSC skate park in Westfield, MA, was one of the most fun events this year. This event was more of a session than a contest, with people from as far away as Uruguay there was a great variety of skating styles. The expert street winner, Russell Scott, from the Boston area displayed a combination of raw street and park skills. There were only a total of 21 skaters but there were about 50 skaters there who all skated the park after the event was over. After the event we had a 15-minute best trick contest that ended up lasting over a half-hour when the judges couldn't decide on a winne., Finally, 3 people came out on top. In third in the best trick was Ant Antonio, second was Andy Pierce, and the winner doing a fakie back flip over a spine with a 5-foot deck in the middle was Artie Pimintal. I would like to thank Jay B. for letting us use his park for the day, and Nick for being so helpful during the event.
