The Sectional events in the West consist of a number of annual competitions, ranging from a multi-sport event like the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey to the Denver Jam II in Colorado.
P.I.G. - The Pacific Inline Grind
This is the Western Regional, it will be held during the NBA Summer League, in conjunction with a multi-sport consumer expo in Long Beach, California.

CAT'97 - The Canadian Aggressive Tour's 2nd Annual series has expanded from the original 3 city tour, to 10 events in 9 cities, from Halifax in the Maritimes, to Vancouver in the west. The Canadian Finals are in conjunction with the ASA Pro Tour in Toronto, the opening weekend of the Canadian National Exhibition @ Exhibition Place.
CAT'96 produced 3 Pro's that are skating on the ASA Pro Tour in 1997. Dave Jarvis of Toronto Ontario, is competing in both Vert and Street, David Ellis, of Georgetown Ontario, and Nicolas Laprarie of Montreal Quebec, are both skating Street. There are another half dozen other male and female skaters that have been invited to qualify for this year's Pro Tour.
